Service Calls & Troubleshooting
Our service rate is $120/hour – the same rate day or night. We offer 24/7 emergency service at no premium rate. Troubleshooting is billed at that rate, and if you approve the repair, the diagnostic charge is credited toward the repair cost. Home Electrical Safety Plan members: your diagnostic fee is waived.
Electrical Panel Replacement (200-Amp)
Typical range: $1,800 – $3,500 for a standard like-for-like replacement. Permit included. Your price includes the new panel and breakers, labor, and reconnection of your existing circuits. Drywall patching is not included. What changes the cost: relocating the panel, code corrections, meter or service-entrance work, and damaged wiring.
Service Upgrade (100-Amp to 200-Amp)
Typical range: $2,200 – $4,500 (most homes around $3,000). Includes the new meter base, service entrance, disconnect, 200-amp panel, and permit. What changes the cost: underground vs. overhead service, panel relocation, and distance from the street.
Whole-House Rewiring
Typical basis: $4 – $8 per square foot. Examples: a 1,500 sq ft home typically runs $6,000 – $12,000; a 2,000 sq ft home $8,000 – $16,000. Drywall patching and painting are not included, and panel or service work is additional. What changes the cost: attic/crawlspace access vs. opening finished walls, two-story homes, plaster walls, and knob-and-tube removal.
EV Charger Installation (Level 2)
Typical range: $750 – $1,500 for a standard installation (dedicated 40- to 60-amp circuit, NEMA 14-50 outlet or hardwired wall mount). Customers supply their own charger – we install it. Permit and inspection are handled as part of the job where required. What changes the cost: distance from the panel to the parking spot (the biggest factor), panel capacity, and trenching to a detached garage. If your panel needs an upgrade first, that is priced separately.
Generator Connections
Portable generator inlet + interlock kit, installed: $500 – $900 (generator itself not included). Manual transfer switch, installed: $600 – $1,400. Whole-home standby generator, installed: typically $10,000 – $18,000 for the electrical installation – the gas line is run by a separate company, arranged by the customer.
Home Electrical Safety Plan
$149/year: annual electrical safety inspection, priority scheduling, 10% off repairs, and a waived diagnostic fee.
